About the Logos

The Made in Montana series of logos were developed by the Montana Department of Commerce to identify products from the state. The logos are trademarked by the Department and may only be used by registered members of the Made in Montana program.

Currently there are three logos available for use:

Made in Montana Logo

For general purpose use including processed foods and other products.

Grown in Montana Logo

For products grown in the state.

Native American Made in Montana Logo

For products made by enrolled members of Montana tribes currently living in the state.

The logos may only be used on products having been made, grown, created, or substantially transformed within the state of Montana (and in the case of substantial transformation the value is 50% or more of the individual parts used in the production process).

The logos may be used on products, packaging, sales literature, advertising, banners, etc. When used, the logos must comply with the guidelines set forth in the Logo Use Agreement. If a company wishes to use the logos in a manner other than described in these guidelines, it must request and receive written permission from the Montana Department of Commerce. Any use of these logos which is deemed a misrepresentation of the intended use by Montana Department of Commerce may result in the suspension of the agreement.

Where to Get Logos

Electronic Logos

Electronic versions of the logos (jpg, pdf, etc.) can be obtained at no charge from the Department of Commerce by submitting a completed Logo Usage Agreement Form. These are for use as a component of a product label or other collateral materials. In no case are they to be reproduced, distributed, or sold as individual logo labels or in any other manner without permission.
